A yantra is not a decoration. It is a geometric agreement — a diagram into which the deity agrees to descend, in exchange for your attention. Here are the nine yantras every Indian home should know.
श्री यन्त्र · Sri Yantra
The queen of all yantras.
Nine interlocking triangles — four pointing down (Shiva) and five pointing up (Shakti) — form forty-three smaller triangles around a single luminous bindu. The geometry encodes the entire cosmos: the body, the mind, the nine worlds, and the moment at which consciousness collapses into pure awareness.
In Vastu, the Sri Yantra is installed at the north-east wall of the home — the Ishana corner — and energized at the Friday new moon. The home then becomes a projection of the yantra itself: the Brahmasthana is the bindu; the four gates of the Bhupura are your four walls.
